cFive Solutions, Inc. Announces 2017 #Catalyst4Change Award Winner
Outstanding Innovation in Community Supervision Recognized
LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. – January 21, 2018 – cFiveTM Solutions, Inc. announced today Herb Sinkinson, as the winner of the #Catalyst4Change Award. As a member of the Burlington Probation and Parole, Vermont Department of Corrections, Sinkinson championed Vermont’s Reparative Board program to integrate community members and victims within the criminal justice system.
Emphasizing an offender’s need to take responsibility and hold themselves accountable, the Reparative Board program incorporates guidance from community members to identify an equitable course of action for probation sentencing. Feedback from the offenders, public, victims and community agencies has been outstanding. Research cites offenders in the program exhibit a 23-percent lower recidivism rate (compared to those who did not participate).
Sinkinson was selected from a group of five Finalists who exemplified #Catalyst4Change as champions of innovative community supervision programs across the nation. Nominations were received for dynamic individuals from multiple agencies in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Texas, and Vermont.
The #Catalyst4Change winner was selected through an online voting platform, with nearly 2,000 votes cast by members of the community supervision community.
#Catalyst4Change is cFive’s corporate initiative created to give back to the industry by creating a platform to recognize dynamic individuals in community supervision, share insight on what works, and build awareness and support in the community and beyond.
