cFive Announces 2019 #Catalyst4Change Award

Recognizing Change Makers in Community Supervision

LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. – August 19, 2019 – cFive Solutions, Inc. announced today Robert Barnett as the recipient of the 2019 #Catalyst4Change Award. As a member of the Orange County Correction Department (Florida), Barnett is recognized for his role as champion of the Inmate Construction Program. The team worked with Valencia College to create a six-week construction curriculum that includes the development of valuable skills and hands-on construction experience. Additionally, students receive several certifications that give them an advantage in the job market.

Since the launch of the Inmate Construction Program the County has graduated thirteen classes. The program has graduated 242 students (20 females, 222 males), with over 67-percent securing full-time employment.
“This program is a great example of today’s dynamic community professionals at their best,” said James Newman, senior vice president for cFive. “Thanks to the vision and dedication of Robert and the Orange County Corrections Department team hundreds of people now have skills and real-life work experience that they can use to gain employment for the rest of their lives. It’s a life changing program, and an example of catalyst for change on many levels.“

Barnett was selected from a group of three Finalists who exemplified #Catalyst4Change as champions of innovative community supervision programs across the nation. Nominations were received for dynamic individuals from multiple agencies across the nation.

The #Catalyst4Change winner was selected through an online voting platform, with votes cast by members of the community supervision community.

In its third year, #Catalyst4Change is cFive’s corporate initiative to give back to the industry by creating a platform to recognize dynamic individuals in community supervision, share insight on what works, and build awareness and support in the community and beyond.
